Somewhere Over That Falling Bridge

Because true and unconditional love never dies. :)

This made my day. It made me cry. It made me smile. It made me feel loved. :)

I had this dog — a dog I only got to be with for 4 days. I bought her from a man while I was riding a Jeep on my way home. He offered her to me for only a hundred pesos (around 2-3 US dollars) and I, being someone who just couldn’t resist dogs (and given that it was 4 days from my birthday, giving me a perfect excuse to get myself something that would make me happy) gave in! I named her Yipai (which is Chinese for 100. Yi Bai, actually) She seems very well. Very happy. And I was happy, happy beyond words, that night.

But things just happened so quickly. The next day she vomited a lot and got dehydrated. I went home from school (which is an hour travel from home) as soon as my classes finished, skipped all my meetings and brought her straight to the vet.

Seems like she has Parvo even before I got her. She was inserted with IV and for the next three days, she was improving a lot. On the 4th day, she is very well. Wagged her tail everytime I’d come.

Then evening came. She ~~gave up~~ tried her best. I made her promise to celebrate my 18th birthday with me. She made it. On that night, the night of my birthday, she passed away.

4 days of being with her. But I know, she will touch my life for a lifetime. :)

2 months later, I pass by the huge flowerpot where we buried her and I noticed that plants have grown in her spot. But they weren’t just wild grass or anything. They were fragile plants with leaves shaped like HEARTS.

In times of stress from acad and life, it reminded me that I am loved. I am remembered. Never forgotten.

So dear Yipai, let me tell you this. You are always remembered. You will never be forgotten. And you are still loved. You will always be. <3
